9-Hebrews 6:13-20 (The Certainty of God's Promise)
The Certainty of God's Promise
Here after dealing with the above text not talking about losing your salvation, but stating if you do lose it you can't get if back. We look at another piece of the puzzle to eternal security. The idea of perseverance of the saints that God will finish what He starts.
It is His nature to complete what He starts well. So if your salvation wasn't completed it would be better to assume that God never started it, than to think He couldn't keep you from falling away. That is just a wrong view of God. You have to have a extra biblical view of free will to believe this. Apart from God our will is not free, but bound. That is why we need the liberation that only He can provide.
Promise, confirmation, and guarantee
two unchangeable things
We who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.
We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul
A hope that enters into the inter place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone on our behalf
(God is saying here, I want you to have confidence in my salvation for you)(It is what the text say not my opinion or bias)

8-Hebrews 5:11-6:12 (Warning Against Apostasy)
Warning Against Apostasy
Young group of believers that are not progressing along.
He encourages them strongly.
He has better hopes for them.
vs 4-6 is a hypothetical not this group for sure and does not point a finger to any specific real group.
Can not use text to support losing salvation, but can support if you lose it you can't get it back.
Catholic believe if you commit a moral sin you lose it and have to do restorative work to get it back
This text is a transition piece outside of the narrative. A break to talk to audience about their growth and maturity.

7-Hebrews 4:14-5:10 (Jesus the Great High Priest)
Jesus the Great High Priest
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Heb. 2:18, for because he himself has suffered when tempted, he able to help those who are being tempted.
For every high priest chosen from among men
is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God
to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.
He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. (This is why we still sin also, is because we are man and have weakness toward temptations)
Because of this He is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as He does for those of the people
And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was.
In his days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears to Him, who was able to save Him from death
although He was a son, He learned obedience through what He suffered
And being made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him
Designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

4-Hebrews 2:5-18 (The Founder of Salvation)
- What is man that you are mindful of him?
-You made the son of man for a little while lower than the angels
You have crowned Him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under His feet
-Subjection (nothing is outside of His control) We do not see that right now though.
Jesus is crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death
He tasted (2nd) death for everyone
The founder of our salvation was made perfect through suffering
He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source
-That is why He is not ashamed to call them brothers
Share in flesh and blood
He destroyed the one who has the power of death that is the devil
and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to life long slavery
It is not the angels that he helps, but the offspring of Abraham
Therefore, He had to be made like His brothers in every respect
So that, He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God to make propitiation for the sins of the people
For because (He Himself has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted)

3-Hebrews 2:1-4 (Warning Against Neglecting Salvation)
Therefore, is a tie in from Heb. 1:1-3 and the Angel dialogue.
Therefore, We must pay much closer attention to what we have heard
Lest we drift away from it,
OT-For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution
NT-How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?
It was declared at first by the Lord and it was attested to us by those who heard, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
