1. Judas arrangement with Chief Priest 
• Matt. 26:14-16
• What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?
• Mark 14:10-11
• They were glad and promised to give him money.
• Luke 22:1-6(The Crowd Problem)
• The chief priest and the scribes were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people
• Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot
• They were glad, and agreed to give him money
• So he consented and sought an opportunity to betray Him to them in the absence of the Crowd

• Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me

• During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him

• It is he to whom I will give the morsel of bread when I have dipped it. So when He had dipped the morsel, He gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot
• Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him
• Jesus said to him, What you are going to do, do quickly
• Some thought that because Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him, Buy what we need for the feast or that he should give something to the poor.
• After receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out

• Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I will kiss is the man; seize Him”
• Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and He will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
• Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me
• Then all the disciples left Him and fled

• Now the betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “The one I will kiss is the man. Seize Him and lead Him away under guard.”
• Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me.

• John 18:1-9 
• Now Judas, who betrayed Him, also knew the place, for Jesus often met there with His disciples
• So Judas having procured a band of soldiers and some officers from the chief priest and the Pharisees went there with lanterns and torches and weapons
• Whom do you seek? When Jesus said to them, I am He, they drew back and fell to the ground. So He asked them again, Whom do you seek? I told you I am He. 
• So if you seek me, let these men go
4. Judas hangs himself 
• Matt. 27:3-10 
• Then when Judas, His betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, He changed His mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priest and the elders saying “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood”
• They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.”
• And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself.
• But the chief priest, taking the pieces of silver, said “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is blood money.”
• So they took counsel and bought with them the potter’s field as a burial place for strangers
• This fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying And they took the thirty piece of silver, the price of him on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel, and they gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord directed me (Jer. 19:1-13, Zech. 11:11-13)
5. John gives Judas credit for complaining about Mary anointing Jesus feet with expensive ointment. 
• John 12:1-8
• Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair.  The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
• But Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples (he who was about to betray Him), said “Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?
• He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief and having charge of the moneybag he used to help himself to what was put into it
