“Christ knows You” John 4:15-20 (Jesus)
(We need to realize God has the ability to show you He knows you better than yourself)
Here Jesus talks in a physical practical language and it wakes her up to see who He is and to move from asking physical questions to spiritual ones. (In the presence) We will ask spiritual question when we realize who we are speaking to.
“Spirit and Truth” John 4:21-24 (Jesus)
In this section, Jesus explains the reality of NC worship whichHe is bringing in. We no longer have to worship at a specific place. And we no longer have to worship in a blind way or in the dark. We can know Who we worship.
“I know the Messiah is coming” John 4:25-27 (Woman)
John 9:35-37, Blind man and Samaratian woman only people in scripture Jesus plainly told them He was the Messiah.
So Jesus, reveals Himself to her, first by speaking directly to her from His treasure of knowledge showing He knew all about her. John 2:24-25
But secondly, He plainly tells her He is the Messiah.
“Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did” John 4:28-30 (Woman)
John 1:47-49, Nathanael under the fig tree.
So in these last two sections, the woman says some odd and excellent things.
Odd things are, “Can this be the Christ” after He just did all those amazing things.
Excellent things are, she left behind her water jar, and told everyone about Chirst.
I think this is another part of where John captures the realness of the moment. Even though such an amazing thing has happen in her life, she hasn’t had time to fully process it all. She is still thinking in her earthly weakness because the reality of her spiritual encounter has not been fully realized yet.
