John 1 (Part 3)

This weekend we will have two things we will look at prior to moving on to John 2.

1-We will trace the path of the link between Elijah and John the Baptist and consider what it tells us about prophecy. What is the value of prophecy in general and what does it show us about how God does things. What is the bigger picture of what these things mean about the grandeur work of God?

2-We will also, consider how the Holy Spirit is promised and fulfilled. We will consider the similarities between how God promised the forerunner for Christ and how we also have a helper to continue with us today.

The goal for this tour guide through the text is to give us a bigger picture and to create a hunger for connecting the connections that John so cleverly lays out for those who would truly truly seek to know their Lord better.
